Cathedral Mountain Lodge

Cathedral Mountain Lodge has a truly unique charm. The location is stunning—tucked away in the forest with a beautiful lake right beside it, the setting feels peaceful and close to nature. It’s the kind of place where you can disconnect and just enjoy the serenity of the outdoors. The lodge itself has a rustic vibe, which adds to the character, but I did notice that the rooms weren’t as clean as expected. While the rustic style was part of the appeal, a bit more attention to cleanliness would have made the stay even more comfortable. On the positive side, the food and service were both very good. The meals were flavorful and satisfying, and the staff were warm and welcoming, making the overall experience enjoyable. Overall, it’s a beautiful property in an incredible location, perfect for those who love nature and a more rustic stay. With a little improvement in housekeeping, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

Beautiful! Due to a little confusion, we actually stayed here in error but are very grateful this happened! The location is perfect for access to Yoho National Park, Takakkaw Falls (these are a must-see!!) and runs alongside the river. There's several detached lodges and whilst not all of them are going to have the breath-taking views, you do have easy access to the riverbank where you can sip a drink, enjoy the firepit and from there, be able to see the surrounding mountains. The food was exceptional but what really makes the place stand out for us was the staff!! A special thank you to: Bethan, Isobel, Sarah, Maude and Ericka for all their help during our stay - whilst all the staff were friendly and welcoming, we got the opportunity to spend some time with these ladies and you are all a credit to Cathedral Mountain Lodge! Thank you :)

Great location, extremely picturesque, very accessible. Close enough to lake Louis and field. Rooms were great, as advertised. Noise not an issue as we brought ear plugs. Dining room/kitchen was overpriced, food did not meet our expectations.

We absolutely loved our time at Cathedral Lake Lodge! The staff were FANTASTIC. You can get hikers lunches packed for you which is awesome. There’s a shuttle to Moraine which is a nice touch. The cabins are really nice (family of 4) - our boys could have their own beds in the loft. We’re along the river and it was just so peaceful The restaurant was nice but way overpriced for what it offered. But the staff (again) were awesome!

It’s rare to see a team so committed to creating memorable moments and going out of their way to ensure every guest feels valued. The combination of luxury, coziness, and world-class hospitality is unmatched. Our time here was nothing short of magical, and we left with full hearts and incredible memories. The location and rustic appeal of the cabins and main lodge is absolutely stunning! The staff were always very friendly and the food was top notch. This should be a 4-5 star accommodation in our opinion. We had our 1yr old (at the time) with us for our wedding vows and brought all our own gear for diner and hiking, paddling. Stayed for 3 days/ 2 nights Early June, and had an amazing time exploring all the local parks, trails, and lakes. Highly recommend for the active adventure aficionados! We are happily married for 15yrs this year! Thank you for the core memories Cathedral Mountain Lodge!

I still dream about this place! What a beautiful experience, I had such a great stay. From the moment we checked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We got a package that included dinner and breakfast both nights, and everything was absolutely delicious. The rooms were cozy, spacious, and beautifully designed. The Takakkaw Falls are literally right beside the property, which made the whole experience even more magical. It was truly a memorable stay and something I’ll always remember.

Lovely accommodation and main lodge. Evening meals very good. Disappointed that main lodge closed at 11.00p.m. Breakfast was a farce - you had to stick exactly to the menu, couldn't replace poached eggs with fried and couldn't even get a piece of toast with butter. Not what I expect from a resort of this standard at all.
